This policy explains how Oceanview Casa ("we," "us") handles your information when you visit oceanview.casa, use our booking website, or make a reservation. We are a small, independent vacation rental in Río Grande, Puerto Rico — we collect only what we need to run bookings and communicate with you, and we do not sell your personal information.
1. Information we collect
- Booking information you provide at checkout: name, email address, phone number, party size, stay dates, and any requests or messages you send us.
- Payment information: processed entirely by our booking platform provider (Guesty) and its payment processor. We never see or store your full card number.
- Correspondence: emails you send to hello@oceanview.casa and messages sent through the booking platform.
- Website analytics: our websites use privacy-focused, aggregate analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics on oceanview.casa) and standard server logs. The booking pages hosted by Guesty may collect usage data as described in Guesty's own privacy policy.
2. How we use it
We use your information to process and manage reservations, communicate before, during, and after your stay, meet tax and legal obligations, prevent fraud, and improve our website. We may occasionally contact past guests about their stay; we do not send marketing newsletters unless you opt in.
3. Who we share it with
- Guesty, the reservation and payment platform that powers our booking website (see Guesty's privacy policy for its practices).
- Payment processors, to charge and refund the payment method you provide.
- Service providers strictly as needed to host your stay (for example, cleaning or maintenance staff receive stay dates, not your contact details, except where needed).
- Authorities, where required by law, including any applicable Puerto Rico lodging-tax reporting.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
4. Cookies
The booking pages use cookies that are necessary for the reservation flow to work (for example, keeping your selected dates and cart). Our main website, oceanview.casa, does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies; its analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics) are cookie-free. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking essential cookies may prevent checkout from completing.
5. Retention
We keep reservation records for as long as needed for tax, accounting, and legal purposes, and correspondence for as long as it is relevant to hosting you. You may ask us to delete information we are not legally required to keep.
6. Your rights
You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@oceanview.casa. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (for example, the EU/EEA or California), we will honor the rights applicable to you.
